Henry Kaiser (composer)

Henry-Charles Kaiser (* 1861 ; † after 1920) was a French composer.

Kaiser studied harmony with Émile Durand at the Conservatoire de Paris , counterpoint and composition with Jules Massenet , piano with Georges Mathias and organ with César Franck . He received first prizes in the subjects of harmony and counterpoint (1880) and organ (1884) and a second prize in the piano (1883).

Between 1884 and 1887 he competed four times for the Prix ​​de Rome , where he won the First Second Grand Prix in 1886 with the biblical scene La somne ​​de Saul after Jules Adenis .

Until the beginning of the 1920s, Kaiser was a tutor for Solfège at the Conservatoire de Paris.
