Konex Foundation
The Konex Foundation ( Fundación Konex ) is an Argentine cultural non-profit organization , all forms of cultural, educational, intellectual, artistic, social, philanthropic, scientific or sporting initiative, Labor and Entrepreneurship, which was founded in 1980 in its most important aspects to promote to stimulate, help and participate, as envisaged by its founder and president Luis Ovsejevich .
The foundation awards group and individual scholarships, but also promotes and stimulates group activities through grants and support for deserving ideas and companies ".
Premios Konex
The "Premios Konex", also launched in 1980, was conceived to reward outstanding Argentine personalities and institutions from various disciplines and to stimulate beginners. But there are also special prices for non-Argentineans.
Although the prizes are awarded every year, they are organized on a 10-year cycle. Each year with a different area, in the following order:
- Sports,
- Entertainment,
- Visual arts,
- Science and technology,
- Literature,
- Popular music,
- Humanities,
- Communication journalism,
- Institutions, communities, companies
- Classical music.
The Premios Konex have been internationally recognized since their inception and are among the most important and important prizes in Argentina.
Foundation activities in the field of classical music
The foundation's activities include a program to promote various forms of cultural expression such as opera , ballet and classical music , in an adapted form, mostly at the Teatro Colón .
Other Foundation activities
The foundation also supports various scientific projects and plastic arts activities, organizes painting exhibitions and has its own collection.
