Contact and information point for self-help groups

The term contact and information center for self-help groups (KISS) stands for nationally existing but regionally organized institutions of local authorities , welfare associations or registered associations whose aim is the "dissemination and promotion of the self-help concept in the social and health sector".

KISS mediates contacts with existing self-help groups, supports start-ups, mediates contacts between self-help groups and experts. She also advises and supports existing self-help groups, for example when making use of subsidies. KISS also promotes self-help through public relations.

The work of the regional KISS is supported by the national contact and information center for the suggestion and support of self-help groups (NAKOS). NAKOS is run by the German Working Group on Self-Help Groups (DAG SHG) e. V. in Berlin-Charlottenburg, the professional association for self-help support and promotion in Germany.
