Concentration principle (business distribution)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For certain types of proceedings, the federal German criminal procedural law stipulates that they are to be concentrated in a specialized panel within the framework of the business distribution plan .

According to Section 74 (2) GVG, this applies to the jurisdiction of the jury chamber , according to Section 74a (1) GVG for that of the State Protection Chamber and according to Section 74c (1) GVG for matters within the jurisdiction of the Economic Criminal Chamber .

The concentration principle here requires that a chamber of the respective regional court is concerned with these matters. A second chamber may only be set up if the business volume is too large to be handled by one chamber alone. If, for this reason, the Presidium divides the relevant matters among several special chambers, at least one of these chambers must focus on the special matter.
