Concert surcharge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The concert surcharge in restaurants in the GDR was a surcharge on the price set by the state for artistic performances in restaurants and was levied as compensation for entrance fees. This surcharge was levied in particular if the costs were not included in the price level. The concert surcharge was an approved percentage surcharge. Alternatively, the next higher price level was used for cultural entertainment. No surcharges were allowed to be charged on pure trade goods such as chocolate or smoked goods.
