Gullet

A gullet is a part of the saddle tree , usually made of metal , that determines the chamber width of the saddle .

With some saddles, the gullet can be changed by the rider in order to adapt the saddle to different horses . However, it is often necessary to reupholster the saddle in order to adapt it to the horse.
