Head butting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In various sports, head butting is the use of the head to attack the opponent or to hinder him. Typically, such an action is considered an offense:

  • In boxing it is considered a foul
  • In cycling , head-butting has always been considered a rule violation in road and track cycling. In contrast to this, it was allowed in Keirin until a few years before 2010, but was banned by a rule change.

These kicks are not to be confused with the headball game in football, which is sometimes also called "head butt". However, an actual headbutt against the opponent is usually punished with a red card .
