Kordia (synonyms: Techlo , Techlovicka II ) is a variety of cartilage cherries . It is one of the most important varieties in South Tyrol.

origin

The variety was discovered as a chance seedling in Těchlovice in the 1960s . It has been grown in the Czech Republic under the name 'Kordia' since 1982 .

blossom

Flowering is medium late and has little resistance to flower frost. As pollinators are Hedelfinger , Summit, Bianca, Octavia, Carmen, Giorgia, Korvic or Tamara suitable.

fruit

The fruits are large and heart-shaped. The skin is dark red to purple black and shiny. The stem is very long.

It ripens from the 6th cherry week and can be harvested over a longer period of time.

The flesh is firm, crisp, very juicy and very sweet, with a pleasant acidity.

The fruits are very resistant to bursting.

tree

The trees are vigorous and form a dense, broadly spreading crown. The yield starts early and is high and regular.

There is a moderate susceptibility to toad skin disease ( Valsa leucostoma ).
