The Korean National Theater is a national theater in Jangchung-dong , Jung-gu , Seoul , South Korea . It is the first state-run theater in Asia.

The Korean National Theater was established in 1950 by the South Korean government and is home to the Korean National Drama Company, which performs both Korean and international plays, the Korean National Changgeuk Company, which performs Korean traditional changgeuk (Korean traditional opera), the Korean National Dance -Company and the Korean National Orchestra.
