Grain group

In materials science or building materials theory, a grain group is defined as an aggregate with a lower (d) and upper sieve size (D). In contrast to the grain class, the grain group includes that when sieving through several, increasingly fine-meshed sieves, some grains remain on the upper, coarser sieve and some fall through the lower, finer sieve.
