Koulouba

Koulouba is a district of Ouagadougou , the capital of the West African state of Burkina Faso . It lies to the east of the center and roughly encompasses Sector 5 . The traditional chef at Koulouba is Naaba Koanga .

The former presidential palace, administration buildings and embassies are located in Koulouba.

In the documentary Il était une fois ... Koulouba by Yassala Sessouma, life in the traditional capital district before it was destroyed is shown as part of the urban development project projet ZACA . The original residents were relocated to new settlements on the outskirts. Only a few multi-storey buildings and villas were left standing.
