Kourosh Yaghmaei

Kourosh Yaghmaei (also known as Kourosh , Persian کوروش یغمایی) is an Iranian pop and rock musician from the 1970s. He is considered one of the first rock musicians in Iran.

Life

Kourosh got his first instrument at the age of ten. It was a santoor with which he began to play the melodies of traditional Iranian music. At the age of 15, Kourosh decided to switch to the guitar . He founded his own groups, whose pieces he composed and in which he participated as lead guitarist and singer. Towards the end of his social sciences studies at the University of Tehran , he brought out his first piece of music, Gol-e Yakh . His fellow student Mahdi Akhavan Langeroudi, now a well-known poet, wrote the text. The piece was a great success and also aroused international interest. After the Islamic Revolution , Kourosh wrote some children's books and recorded children's tapes. He also released the instrumental album Didār . In 1994 he released his album Sib-e Noghreyi . Kourosh Yaghmaie's eldest son, Kaveh Yaghmaie, is also known as a singer.
