Strength through Froide

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kraft durch Froide is a right-wing rock band from Berlin . It existed from 1982 to 1987, when it broke up because of the alcoholism of one member and the attitude of the drummer Andreas Pohl , which was perceived by the other members as too radical . In 1999 the band was re-founded.

Band history

They made their first appearance together with the Böhse Onkelz in the "KDF-Bunker" in Berlin. The band name is an allusion to the National Socialist community Kraft durch Freude (KdF), where the "eu" in joy is replaced by the Oi! -Scene typical "Oi" was replaced. The band members originally came from the punk scene, but increasingly transformed themselves into such under the musical and political influence of British neo-Nazi skinheads.

Several of the group's works have been indexed by the Federal Testing Office for writings harmful to minors because of their anti- constitutional and xenophobic texts. Thematically, these included social envy against Pakistani asylum seekers , denigration of various countries and expressions of sympathy for Rudolf Hess .

The drummer of Kraft Durch Froide is Andreas Pohl. He was a member of the banned neo-Nazi organizations Social Revolutionary Workers' Front and Nationalist Front .

In 1996, the group's first authorized release was released on CD. All previous releases were made without the consent of the band members. In 1999 Pohl re-founded the band, and eight albums have been released since then.
