The claw lifter is used to pick up textile surfaces such as carpet tiles . The claw lifter consists of a handle and a head plate with oblique steel pins attached to the end of the handle. The pins can be extended or spread apart by operating a mechanism and thus claw into the carpet. This means that raised floor panels with textile covering can also be easily picked up.

In the example below, the right head plate was moved inwards by lifting the tensioning lever, thus opening the claw lifter.
