Georg Nikolaus von Balthasar (born August 23, 1692 in Greifswald , † July 31, 1753 in Netzeband ) was a German soldier in the Swedish service. He was city commander of Greifswald.

Georg Nikolaus (Jurgen Niklas) von Balthasar was a son of Jakob Balthasar (1652–1706) and his wife Anna Katharina (1669–1742), daughter of the Greifswald professor Friedrich Gerdes . He was a captain under Charles XII. of Sweden . During the Northern War he withstood the two sieges of Stralsund in 1711 and 1713, took part in the Norwegian campaign (1716) and was most recently as major in command of Greifswald .

After his abdication, he leased the Königliche Dominialgut Netzeband around 1733. In 1746, together with his brothers Jakob Heinrich , Augustin and Johann Gustav, he was raised to the hereditary nobility with an imperial diploma. On the night of July 30th to 31st, 1753 he was killed in a fire in Netzeband, already deaf during the siege of Stralsund and therefore unable to hear the fire alarm. His 20-year-old daughter Anna Barbara, who wanted to save him, died with him.

He was married to Eleonore von Hertel († December 9, 1773) and had children with her
