Johann Gustav von Balthasar

Johann Gustav von Balthasar (born June 19, 1704 in Rostock ; † December 4, 1773 in Greifswald ) was a mayor of Greifswald and district administrator in Swedish Pomerania .

Johann Gustav von Balthasar was the youngest son of Jakob Balthasar (VI.) (1652–1706) and his wife Anna Katharina Gerdes, a daughter of the Greifswald professor Friedrich Gerdes . The general superintendent Jakob Heinrich von Balthasar , the major Georg Nikolaus von Balthasar and the professor Augustin von Balthasar were brothers of Johann Gustav. In 1746 they were raised to the nobility in Vienna.

Johann Gustav became mayor in 1753 and district administrator in Greifswald in 1764 .

He was married to Juliana Battus († 1774), daughter of the master's degree and deacon at St. Nicolai in Greifswald Theodor Battus. The son David Theodor (1738–1793) became an assessor at the Greifswald court (died mentally ill) and the daughter Katharina Elisabeth was married to Johann Christoph Muhrbeck .
