Shan United (officially: Shan United Football Club ), also known as The Shan Warriors , is a football club from Myanmar . The club is based in Taunggyi and plays in the highest league in the country, the Myanmar National League .
The club was founded in 2005 under the name Kanbawza FC in Rangoon . He played as an amateur club in what was then the country's top division, the Myanmar Premier League . In 2007 the club became champions of the country. In 2009 the league was dissolved and the Myanmar National League was founded. Kanbawza FC was a founding member of the new league. They switched from an amateur club to a professional club and moved from Rangoon to Taunggyi. In February 2010, Khin Maung Kyaing, former manager of the finance and tax team, took over as CEO of the club .
In 2012 the club became runner-up for the first time. In 2015 the club changed its name to Shan United . In 2017 they won the Myanmar championship for the first time.
