history
The club was founded in 2015 under the name Mahar United . From 2016 to 2017 the club played in the second highest league in the country, the MNL-2 . In 2017 they became runner-up and rose to the highest league in the country, the Myanmar National League . After the 2017 promotion, the club's name was changed from Mahar United to Sagaing United .
