Best workers

As best workers were in the GDR professionals awarded , scored the loud to them presented certificates "excellent work results in the socialist planned fulfillment." There were also other formulation variants, e.g. B. "for exemplary performance in socialist competition and in the struggle for daily plan fulfillment".

In all state- owned companies , so-called streets of the best were set up, where photographs of the best workers were exhibited in showcases or on blackboards. The GDR trade union federation regularly urged its members to use the best workers as models for higher work performance. For this purpose, best workers' conferences were held in companies, combines and cities.

Awards for the best workers were also common in other real socialist countries , especially the Soviet Union , where a panel of the best was dedicated to them in production facilities .
