Street of the best

As Street of the Best were in state-owned enterprises of the GDR special display cabinets or wall panels called. There the portraits of so-called best workers were exhibited, i.e. the workers who have been particularly deserving of late. This practice has also been used in some schools to honor particularly successful students.

The street of the best served in addition to awards with books, vouchers, cash bonuses and vacation trips, prizes, medals, badges ( activist of socialist work , collective of socialist work ), medals or certificates to motivate the workers in the workplace.
