Hanthawaddy United (officially: Hanthawaddy United Football Club ), also known as The Shelducks , is a soccer club from Myanmar . The club is based in Taungoo and plays in the highest league in the country, the Myanmar National League .

history

The club was founded in Taungoo in 2009 as Okktha United FC . The association was founded by Aung Moe Kyaw of the IBTC Company. In 2012 the club was renamed Hanthawaddy United FC . The biggest success so far was winning the General Aung San Shield , formerly MFF Cup, in 2010. In 2013, they rose to the MNL-2 , the second highest league in the country. By winning the championship in 2014, they were immediately promoted back to the Myanmar National League .
