Georg Friedrich Erhardt
Georg Friedrich Erhardt (born January 5, 1825 in Winterbach (Remstal) , † September 20, 1881 in Stuttgart ) was a German portrait and genre painter.
Erhardt studied with the court painter Joseph Anton von Gegenbaur in Stuttgart and around 1844 with Johann Gottfried Brücke or Wilhelm Brücke in Berlin and from December 7, 1848 to 1849 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich . After graduating, he settled in Stuttgart. In 1876 he was appointed court painter to the House of Württemberg in Stuttgart. He helped Gegenbaur with the frescoes in the New Palace in Stuttgart. He also painted some pictures with oriental motifs for Rosenstein Castle in Stuttgart. However, he mainly painted portraits.
