Infirmary

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A hospital ward is a medical facility, usually consisting of a few rooms, for the examination , treatment and accommodation of more easily injured and sick people within a non-medical institution , in remote locations or areas in developing countries . These include, for example, schools (especially boarding schools ), business premises , cruise ships , warships , drilling platforms and mission stations . Medical care is provided by trained specialists, such as nurses . Medical visits or consultation hours take place either daily or regularly on certain days.

An infirmary is equipped similarly to a medical station. However, like a hospital, the infirmary is designed - to a much smaller extent - to accommodate sick people over a longer period of time, while the first aid station only provides outpatient first aid.
