Kranzlsingen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Kranzlsingen is a choir event that is particularly widespread in the Bavarian-Austrian region.

At the beginning of a wreath singing, all participating choirs introduce themselves to a central place with 1–2 songs and then move to various places in a congregation (outdoors, sometimes in inns), where they then perform. After a short performance (approx. 15 minutes) the choirs receive a braided wreath made of box or oak leaves and then change places. Often the choirs are also fed at their performance stations.

This type of event is widespread in the context of men's choirs .
