The circles of Lissanduff (locally called Dark fort ) are located at Portballintrae in the north of County Antrim in Northern Ireland . They are located above the town near the coast, on the old border of Dalriada, overlook the Bush River at the end of the old road to Tara in the south.

There are two adjacent concentric circles of Bronze Age earthworks . One pair is a rath with double walls, which is not particularly common as most of them have a wall. The other couple is unusual. Its oval walls enclose a spring, creating an artificial lake. Ritual ponds were offers to animals and served u. a. the sacrifice of weapons. However, the exact dating and function must be reserved for future excavations.
