The Krautheim district care facility was a facility on Burgweg 2 in Krautheim in what is now Hohenlohekreis . A retirement home is still located here today.

history

The district nursing home and the rural poor of the Mosbach district existed since 1875.

time of the nationalsocialism

In 1940 and 1941, 56 sick and disabled residents were deported from Krautheim as part of the T4 campaign . 52 patients were murdered in the Grafeneck and Hadamar extermination centers , two more in Zwiefalten ; only two residents survived.

On October 17, 1940 alone, 50 residents were deported to Grafeneck.

Harald Jenner reported on March 23, 2017 in the Johannitersaal in Krautheim about his investigations together with Dietmar Schulze, which had been preceded by the research of Hans-Werner Scheuing. The aim is to be able to name all victims.

post war period

In 1948 the Krautheim sanatorium had 168 beds.

In 1999, after extensive demolition, new construction and renovation work, a district nursing home for the Hohenlohe district and the town's municipal kindergarten were built.
