Krematorium ( Russian Крематорий Krematori ; also transliterated as Krematorij ) is a Russian rock band.

history

The group Krematorium was founded in Moscow in 1983 by Viktor Trojegubov and the front man and author of most of the titles of the band Armen Grigorjan. After a dispute after the third album Illusory World , there was a break of several years.

In 1988 the fourth album Koma was released with the song Mussorny weter ( garbage wind ; refers to the anti-Stalinist story of the same name by Andrei Platonow from the 1930s), thanks to which the band achieved their breakthrough. With her style, the use of a violin in combination with hard rock elements, she set new standards in Russian rock music. From now on a lively concert activity began and the band appeared on Soviet Central Television. Concerts abroad such as Germany, Israel and the USA followed. After further disputes Trojegubow left the band for good and later wrote a book about his time in the band.

In 1993, the band's most successful album to date was released with the compilation Krematorium . In 1994 the band took part in the film Tazu together with the Yekaterinburg band Nastja around singer Nastja Polewa ( Tazu was the name of their 1987 breakthrough album ), which however did not have the desired success. However, the filmed material of the film was subsequently used for several video clips of the band.

To date, 15 regular studio albums, six samplers (including one in the Legends of Russian Rock series ) and two concert albums have been released. Among the most popular titles Mussorny weter ( Мусорный ветер , waste wind ), Besobrasnaja Elsa ( Безобразная Эльза , Ugly Elsa ), Malenkaja dewotschka ( Маленькая девочка , Little Girl ), Seksualnaja Koschka ( Сексуальная кошка , Sexy Cat ) Leprosori ( Лепрозорий , Leprosorium ) , Tanya ( Таня ) klubnika so ldom ( Клубника со льдом , strawberry ice ), Autsaider ( Аутсайдер , outsider / underdog ) Chabibulin ( Хабибулин ) Posledni shan ( Последний шанс , Last chance ) and others.

Musician

The line-up of the band changed frequently. The only permanent member was the front man Grigorjan.
