Cross sleeper track

In the case of the cross-sleeper track ( KLS ), the sleepers are arranged along the axis of the track . The sleepers are connected to one another with cross bars made of metal, the so-called lane retaining brackets . The support area increases significantly with the longitudinal sleeper compared to the cross sleeper . This results in a lower overall height, a higher resistance to lateral displacement and a lower base pressure . Their main areas of application are tram and light rail tracks embedded in the pavement.
