Günter Marten

Günter Marten (born March 10, 1939 in Diepholz , Hanover province ; † January 12, 2013 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the German Bundestag.

Life

After completing secondary school , Günter Marten trained as a technical draftsman and locksmith . In 1960 he joined the German Navy as an officer candidate ; he made it to the frigate captain .

Günter Marten was a Protestant, married and had two children. Since 1994 he has been the Hungarian honorary consul in Schwerin . He worked as an independent business development consultant.

Political party

In 1974 Günter Marten joined the CDU and the CDA . After reunification he became involved in the CDU regional association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , whose treasurer he was from 1991 to 1992.

MP

In 1990 and 1994 Günter Marten stood as a direct candidate for the CDU in the Güstrow - Sternberg - Lübz - Parchim - Ludwigslust constituency . The Bundestag sent him to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Assembly of the Western European Union . Marten gave his first and only speech in the Bundestag on March 4, 1998 in a current hour on the subject of "Acquisition of land reform land by former owners". In the candidate list for the Bundestag election in 1998 , he sat down against Minister a. D. Georg Diederich , but was defeated in the election of the SPD candidate Christel Deichmann and left the Bundestag.
