Georg Diederich

Georg Diederich (born December 17, 1949 in Schwerin ) is a German chemist and politician ( CDU ).

biography

education and profession

After graduation in 1968 Diederich began studying chemistry, which he 1973 with the exam to graduate chemists and awarded the degree of Dr. rer. nat. finished. He then worked as a dispatcher in a plastic processing plant and worked at the Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics in Schwerin from 1976 to 1990. He also completed a journalism degree with the Church from 1985 to 1987.

Diederich became a member of the NDR Broadcasting Council in 1992 and later elected its chairman. Since 1996 he has been director of the Heinrich Theissing Institute in Schwerin.

Diederich joined the CDU in 1990.

From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

From June to October 1990 Diederich was government representative of the regional administrative authority of the Schwerin district . After the re-establishment of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , he was appointed Minister of the Interior to the state government ( Gomolka cabinet ) led by Prime Minister Alfred Gomolka (CDU) on October 27, 1990 . Its state secretary was the lawyer Volker Pollehn. On March 16, 1992, he resigned, as did the Prime Minister. Lothar Kupfer (CDU) followed him as Minister of the Interior .
