War memorial 1814/1815 (Saxony-Altenburg)
The war memorial 1814/1815 was donated on October 28, 1816 by Duke August von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg for officers, NCOs and men who had proven themselves during the campaigns of 1814 and 1815 .
The front of the bronze medal shows a princely hat with the inscription IM • KAMPFE • FUER • DAS • RECHT . The reverse shows the Altenburg five-petalled rose, which is surrounded by an ornament running between two circular lines on the edge. Struck in the margin * HERZOGTH. • GOTHA • AND • ALTENBURG • MDCCCXIV. MDCCCXV * .
The award was worn on a grass-green ribbon with black stripes and crossed golden horizontal stripes on the left chest.
