Crown (potato)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Krone is a medium early table potato variety.

Their starch content is a good 10%, and there are hardly any problems with growth.

The crown is insensitive to damage, the plants form a comparatively large number of long oval tubers. Krone NN is resistant to the gold nematodes Ro1 and Ro4, a slight weakness exists in the leaf roll virus . The bloom of the variety Krone is white, the planting distance should be chosen a little further due to the high approach. Krone is also suitable for lighter soils. A germ stimulation is advisable. Cultivation locations that promote iron staining should be avoided.

It was the predominantly waxy variety with the highest market product yield in the Bavarian state variety trial in 2009 after - according to the specifications of the trade class rating - the potatoes with quality defects had been sorted out (LKP market product yield) In Schleswig-Holstein it tended to be comparatively undersorted in the dry year 2010.
