Cryobiology
Cryobiology (from ancient Greek κρύος kryos "ice", "frost") is a branch of biology that deals with the effects of very low temperatures on organisms , tissues and cells . This applies above all to temperatures below the freezing point of water , whose liquid state is generally regarded as a basic requirement for life .
