Krzysztof Wiesław Hołowczyc (born June 4, 1962 in Olsztyn , Poland ) is a rally driver and was a politician for Platforma Obywatelska (PO) from 2007 to 2009 .

Hołowczyc won the Polish Rally Championship in 1995, 1996 and 1999. In 1997 he became European Rally Champion in a Subaru Impreza and was able to win the Cyprus Rally . In 1998 he took part in the World Rally Championship . Since 2005 he has participated in the Dakar Rally with a Nissan Navara and reached 2009his best result so far with a fifth place overall. In 2010 Holowczyc switched to the German X-raid team and won the FIA ​​International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas with the BMW X3 CC. Krzysztof has been driving a MINI ALL4 Racing since 2011 and has won various Bajas and Rallies. In 2013 he won the FIA ​​World Cup for cross-country rallies with 3 podiums and one victory. He is also a constant participant in the Dakar Rally and was able to achieve a ninth place in the overall standings in 2012, fifth in 2013, sixth in 2014 and third in 2015.

Krzysztof Hołowczyc has been a member of the Polish Platforma Obywatelska in the European Parliament since December 2007 , where he is a member of the Group of the European People's Party .

He is committed to more safety in road traffic and founded the foundation “The Safe Driver”. He was awarded the prize “The Excellence in Road Safety” by the European Commission . In 2006 the Polish President awarded him the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland for his sporting achievements .
