Cultural Land Brandenburg

Kulturland Brandenburg is a regular culture festival that has been inviting every year since 1998 with a new theme to discover the cultural and regional diversity as well as the historical heritage. Every year, Kulturland Brandenburg calls on cultural institutions and initiatives in the state to contribute ideas to the respective theme years. Every year, new projects are created through numerous collaborations between actors from culture, education, science and tourism.

In 2002 the association Kulturland Brandenburg e. V. founded. Kulturland Brandenburg's projects were mainly funded by the East German Savings Bank Association. The association Kulturland Brandenburg e. V. merged on January 1, 2014 with the Haus der Brandenburgisch-Preußischen Geschichte non-profit GmbH, founded in 2003, and has since been operating under the name of the "Brandenburg Society for Culture and History non-profit GmbH". Its shareholders are the state of Brandenburg and the city of Potsdam . The total budget financed by the state should increase from 1.6 million euros in 2013 to 1.9 million euros in 2014. The theme years under the brand “Kulturland Brandenburg” should continue to exist.
