The Kur- und Verkehrsbetriebe AG Oberstdorf , founded in 1950 as Oberstdorfer Stuhlbahn AG , originally had the task of the Söllereckbahn to operate a 2- seater chairlift in Oberstdorf . Gradually, other branches of the company were added (Freibergsee bathing establishment, mud bath, Kurmittelhaus, Kurhäuser), so that in 1959 the company was given its current name.

After the sale of a number of properties, most recently the Kurmittelhaus in 2005, the Kur- und Verkehrsbetriebe AG Oberstdorf operates the new Söllereckbahn (built in 1997 as a 6-person single-cable circulating gondola lift ) with 4 ski lifts , the Söllereckrodel, a summer and all-weather toboggan run from Alpine Coaster type , the ski jumping hill in Stillachtal and the indoor tennis center in Oberstdorf, the Söllereck climbing forest and the Schönblick mountain lodge at the Söllereckbahn mountain station.

Kur- und Verkehrsbetriebe AG Oberstdorf is majority owned by Markt Oberstdorf.
