from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Söllereckbahn is a 2025 meter long small cabin lift near Oberstdorf .

It overcomes a height difference of 345 meters and was considered the longest monocable gondola lift in Germany until the Fellhornbahn II was built . The Söllereckbahn has 13 pillars and 68 cabins with a capacity of six people each. The cable of the Söllereckbahn, which is both a pulling and carrying cable, has a diameter of 41 mm and a length of 4150 meters. The travel time of the Söllereckbahn, which can transport a maximum of 1700 people per hour, is 6.5 minutes.

From 1950 to 1997 the Söllereckbahn was a two-seater, detachable chairlift built by Von Roll . In the summer of 1996, the concrete foundations for the new Doppelmayr gondola lift were built . In April 1997 the chairlift was shut down and construction work continued on the new lift, which went into operation in July 1997. The chairlift building is now part of the garage for the gondola cabins.

The Söllereckbahn is a company of the Kur- und Verkehrsbetriebe AG Oberstdorf. The majority of the stock corporation is owned by Markt Oberstdorf. In addition to the Söllereckbahn, the company also operates the Söllereck toboggan run, an all-weather toboggan run of the Alpine Coaster type with a length of around 900 m, the Höllwies lift and the ski jumping hill in Oberstdorf's Stillachtal. In addition to the Söllereckbahn there are 4 ski lifts in the Söllereck-Höllwies ski area: Wannenköpflelift, Ochsenhöflelift, Schrattenwanglift and Höllwieslift. The Berghaus Schönblick is also owned by Kur- und Verkehrsbetriebe AG Oberstdorf.
