Cuddling

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cuddling in front of someone ( French: couch "lying down, bowing down, stretching down") is an affable expression for fearful subordination and strict obedience to authorities or superiors. It is usually meant negatively or disparagingly. - "Kusch dich!" Means something like "disappear!" (From couche-toi! "Go to sleep!").

According to Friedrich Kluge's Etymological Dictionary of the German Language (24th edition, p. 549) the word comes from the command couche! or “cuddle!” to hunting dogs (roughly: “Duck down and be quiet!”).
