Kutsma

The kutsma is a headwear that was introduced to the Austrian hussars in 1863 . It was replaced by the shako in 1872 .

Black lambskins were used for teams, with a black and yellow thread ornament made of sheep's wool and a 24 cm (9.5 inch) long, bent-back rooster feather.

Astrakhan fur was used for officers , along with a black and gold string ornament and a 33 cm (13 inch) long eagle feather.

Together was a sack hanging to the right in the regimental colors. If the coat was removed, the spring and cord could be stowed in the coat bag.
