The Kuvempu University is a public university in the state of Karnataka in India . 175 teachers and 275 employees are employed. The number of students is 32,000.
history
The establishment took place on June 29, 1987 by an act of the legislature of the state of Karnataka by the amendment No. 28/1976 dated January 29, 1989 under the Karnataka State University Act 1976. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines. The university was recognized by the UGC in 1994 and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities.
Library
The library has more than 69,000 volumes and 251 current journals. A CD-ROM database and Internet e-mail facilities are also available. The library provides access to 2000 e-journals online. There is also a fully computerized language laboratory and trained trainers.
