Kwangmyong

Kwangmyong ( Kor. 광명 ) ( Eng. "Light") is the North Korean intranet , which was made available to the North Korean public in 2000. Only a small number of authorized persons have access to the global Internet, whereas the rest of the population are only allowed to use the state-controlled network for the purpose of censorship . Kwangmyong is accessible 24 hours a day in all major cities and universities. The websites are equipped with the Internet TLD .kp .

It consists of several thousand websites.

There are 28 known pages that can be accessed via the Kwangmyong. Among other things, there are websites for the North Korean airline , the North Korean news agency and a site for North Korean films. Some websites are also available in several languages. The “ Voice of Koreawebsite is also available in German, Arabic, English and Russian, among others.
