The Christian Trade Union Confederation Luxembourg (Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtleche trade union bond), abbreviated LCGB , is a Luxembourg trade union that was founded on January 23, 1921. The trade union policy of the LCGB is thus based on Christian social teaching. This is also reflected in the union's motto: The focus is on people.

The LCGB is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). In the membership list of the IGB, membership is given as 42,153 (as of November 2017).

The LCGB is the second largest trade union in Luxembourg.

The headquarters of the LCGB is located in the station district in Luxembourg City.

Cooperations

Alongside the OGBL and the CGFP, the LCGB is one of the three national representative trade unions in Luxembourg and as such takes part in tripartite negotiations, negotiates collective agreements or agreements with the employers' associations and is on the bodies of the health insurance fund (CNS), the pension fund and the economy - and Social Council (CES) represented.

In 2001 the LCGB was co-founder of Mobbing asbl together with the Christian railway union.

Publications

The LCGB regularly publishes a number of publications:

  • The trade union magazine Soziale Fortschrëtt (6 issues per year);
  • The Spotlight newsletter (depending on how up to date);
  • Rapidos with the social parameters in German, French, English, Portuguese and Italian (always after adjusting the social parameters).

In addition to these regular publications, the LCGB also publishes information material such as leaflets (LCGB info) and brochures (including a tax guide in February each year and a further training catalog in autumn each year).

Web presence and new media

For a few years now, the LCGB has also been increasingly active in the field of new media.

In addition to the multilingual website of the LCGB (German and French are the main languages, d'Lokelsektion pages are often written in Luxembourgish, depending on the economic sector, English or Portuguese are also used), there are also specific websites for cross-border commuters and a blog.

The LCGB has an official website on Facebook, has a YouTube channel for its official videos and also offers a free iPhone app LCGB News .
