An extinguishing bridge is usually equipped with various telescopic arms on which a flexible hose is mounted. The tanker must lie with the center of the ship at the height of the loading arms in order to reach the manifolds (hose connection station) arranged there . In order to discharge or take over the cargo, the arm with the pipe corresponding to the connection on board is lowered over the ship and connected there.
