In Germany , the magazine was launched in 2010 by the former Berlin publishing house Mitte Editions and has been published by Madame Verlag in Munich since 2011 , although the Berlin company Off One's Rocker Publishing has been responsible for the content since 2012 . After Lâle Aktay, Götz Offergeld is now the first man to hold the position of editor-in-chief.

L'Officiel Hommes was created as a supplement to the women's fashion magazine L'Officiel , which has been published since 1921. Numerous personalities from the art and fashion world such as Milan Vukmirovic and André Saraiva contributed to its creation. Published quarterly, it represents direct competition to similarly designed magazines in Germany such as GQ Style or Men's Health Fashion .
