LISA - the science portal of the Gerda Henkel Foundation is an online science portal for historical humanities . The sponsor is the Gerda Henkel Foundation in Düsseldorf . The portal has been online since February 23, 2010 and is aimed at both scientists and the general public.

Naming

The acronym L.ISA stands for the main possibilities of the portal: reading, informing, writing and exchanging . LISA also commemorates the founder of the Gerda Henkel Foundation, Lisa Maskell , who set up the foundation in 1976 in memory of her mother Gerda Henkel. The website sees itself in the tradition of the foundation and at the same time wants to meet current and future research needs.

Target group and participation

The portal is open to scholarship holders and funded researchers of the Gerda Henkel Foundation as well as to anyone interested in topics from the field of historical humanities. Relevant articles from historical disciplines can also be contributed by other interested authors. This can involve the sharing of knowledge and research results, but also the publication of well-versed opinions on historical and current topics. LISA only publishes original contributions that have either been written or initiated by the editorial team, or that are contributed by external authors. These often contain exclusive material, for example allowing the user to take part in international excavations in the form of video contributions.

Content

LISA includes topic dossiers, online lectures and expert chats, a platform for video contributions from everyday science, calls for specialist discussions and creates a public for book reviews, exhibition reviews and event reports. The portal also offers young researchers the opportunity to present their dissertation projects prominently, to exchange ideas with one another and to get involved in all categories. LISA also co-organizes scientific conferences, such as the .hist 2011 conference in Berlin.
