The headquarters of LSH Versicherung in Bad Fallingbostel

The LSH insurance is a German insurance company based in Bad Fallingbostel .

history

With effect from January 1, 1904, 33 community leaders founded the “Fire Insurance Association of the former Fallingbostel District Bailiwick (mutual)”. The first chairman of the association was the mill owner Willi Rubach. In the founding year, 545 members from 36 municipalities were part of the business area. Two years later, the business area was expanded to include two municipalities and the name was changed to “Fire Insurance Association Fallingbostel (mutual)” at the meeting of representatives. The following years were characterized by a steady upward development, which was not affected by the global economic crisis of 1931/32.

In September 1937, Fallingbostel's business area was expanded to include other neighboring districts, as the Bergen-Fallingbostel military training area was established in 1935 and the population of eleven communities was relocated from the association's core business area. In the 1950s, the business area was expanded to include the entire Lüneburg Heath and from January 1, 1970 to the entire Federal Republic of Germany. At the same time the company was renamed "Landesschadenhilfe VVaG" (short: LSH) against the background of the cooperation agreed with the Landeskrankenhilfe and Landeslebenshilfe from Lüneburg .

structure

LSH Vermittlungs-GmbH also belongs to the LSH and, in particular, takes on the brokerage of insurance lines not offered by LSH itself. LSH Rechtsschutz Service GmbH also processes claims in its own legal protection division. LSH operates the insurance business within the scope of the Insurance Supervision Act (VAG) and is therefore subject to supervision by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). On January 1, 2016, the European Solvency II supervisory regime , which is applied at LSH, came into force.
