The State Office for Statistics and Communication Technology Lower Saxony (LSKN) is a former state enterprise of the Lower Saxony state government. It was dissolved on December 31, 2013 and transferred to IT.Niedersachsen and the Lower Saxony State Statistical Office .

The LSKN was responsible for state-internal IT services and statistical tasks in the state of Lower Saxony . By merging these two areas, synergy effects should be achieved. The state enterprise was based on Göttinger Chaussee in the Lower Saxony state capital Hanover . It was subject to the technical supervision of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport .

In the field of statistics, the state company collected figures in various subject areas and published numerous statistics. There was also cooperation with other federal states and the Federal Statistical Office . The communications technology division was responsible for data protection , data security, long-term archiving and telecommunications services for the Lower Saxony authorities. In the coalition agreement between the SPD and the Greens 2013–2018 it is stated that the state statistics are to be transferred to an independent “State Office for Statistics”.

The state company was run by a four-person board based on private-sector organizational forms. The board had four board areas, to which individual departments were subordinate:

  • IT services (V2)
  • Statistics (V3)
  • Human Resources, Finance and Central Services (V4)

The state enterprise was also involved in organizing the 2011 census .
