LUST ( " L ese u ntersuchung with the S tolperwörter- T est" from 2004: " L ese u ntersuchung with the S iegener reading t est") is a at the University of Siegen and the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd by Hans Brügelmann together Project developed with Axel Backhaus and Erika Brinkmann in which the reading performance of elementary school children from first to fourth grade is examined.

In contrast to VERA (comparative work in school) and the IGLU study , the teachers take part voluntarily and receive the results for independent interpretation with a view to the special conditions of their lessons and of the individual children in their class.

The central instrument in the study is the stumbling block reading test , which was developed by the primer author Wilfried Metze.
