La Tahona , also known as Altos de La Tahona , is a town in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the southern part of the Canelones department in sector 37 . Carmel and Lomas de Carrasco border the place in the north and east . To the west is Villa Aeroparque . Solymar can be found on the coast of the Río de la Plata in the south . In a south-westerly direction, the area of the Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco is a few kilometers away .

The population of La Tahona is 168 (as of 2011). The Instituto Nacional de Estadística de Uruguay did not collect any data for the 1963 to 1996 censuses .
