Laarchos

Laarchos ( ancient Greek Λάαρχος ; Herodotus : Λέαρχος ) was a son of Battos II , king of Cyrene in the 6th century BC. Chr.

Laarchos fought together with other unnamed brothers against his brother Arkesilaos II to succeed their father. Laarchos founded about 100 kilometers west located bark and incited simultaneously to the Libyan tribes to revolt against Cyrene. He murdered Arkesilaos around 555/550 BC. After his defeat at Leukon in Libya and was probably murdered on the orders of his wife Eryxo while trying to succeed him .
